Product Specific Information
Store GST antibody at 4°C prior to opening. Centrifuge if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. Stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use. For extended storage, aliquot and freeze at -20°C or below. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Goat Serum as well as purified and partially purified Glutathione-S-Transferase (Schistosoma japonicum). Cross-reactivity against GST from other sources may occur but has not been specifically determined.
Target Information
GST (Glutathione S-transferase) is a 26 kDa protein found in both eukaryotes and prokaryotes, catalyzing various reactions. It is commonly used to create GST gene fusion systems, allowing purification of GST-fusion proteins via their strong affinity for glutathione. These fusion proteins are valuable tools for studying direct protein-to-protein interactions. The GST gene fusion system has been introduced into numerous expression vectors.
