Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
The fidelity of protein synthesis requires efficient discrimination of amino acid substrates by aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases. Arginyl-tRNA synthetase (ArgRS), also known as RARS or DALRD1, belongs to the class I aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase family, which includes LeuRS, ValRS, and IleRS. These enzymes catalyze the aminoacylation of tRNA with their cognate amino acids. ArgRS localizes to the cytoplasm and can exist as a monomer or as part of a multisubunit complex with other tRNA synthetases and auxiliary proteins. In the presence of ATP, arginine, and tRNA, ArgRS catalyzes the attachment of arginine to tRNA(Arg) at its active site. Two cytoplasmic forms of ArgRS have been described in mammals, differing by a 73-amino-acid sequence required for complex assembly.
