This antibody has specificity for Human LGALS3/Galectin-3.
Target Information
Galectin-3 is a galactose-specific lectin that binds IgE and may mediate, with the α3β1 integrin, CSPG4-induced endothelial cell migration. Together with DMBT1, it is required for terminal differentiation of columnar epithelial cells during early embryogenesis. In the nucleus, it acts as a pre-mRNA splicing factor. It is involved in acute inflammatory responses, including neutrophil activation and adhesion, monocyte/macrophage chemoattraction, opsonization of apoptotic neutrophils, and mast cell activation.
