Target Information

Laminins are extracellular matrix glycoproteins and major noncollagenous components of basement membranes. They are involved in cell adhesion, differentiation, migration, signaling, neurite outgrowth, and metastasis. Laminins consist of three non-identical chains—alpha, beta, and gamma (formerly A, B1, and B2)—forming a cruciform structure with three short arms and one long arm.
Defects in the LMNB1 gene are associated with Leukodystrophy, demyelinating, autosomal dominant, adult-onset (ADLD).
