Product Specific Information

• Description: Monoclonal rat IgG1 kappa isotype control immunoglobulin.
• Applications Reported: Intracellular staining followed by flow cytometric analysis.
• Applications Tested: Tested by flow cytometric analysis of normal human peripheral blood and mouse splenocytes. Use at the same concentration as the experimental antibody.
• Fluorophore Information: Brilliant Violet™ 480 (BV480) emits at 479 nm and is optimized for cytometers with a 405 nm violet laser.
• Compatibility: BV480 is not compatible with methanol-based fixation.

Target Information

Rat IgG1 is a subclass of immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibodies commonly used in research and diagnostics. Produced by rats in response to antigens, they can be purified from serum or hybridoma culture supernatants.
Rat IgG1 is frequently used as a negative control, as it does not bind to many mammalian antigens. It is applicable in immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry, and western blotting to detect specific antigens.
Gene targeting in rats allows for gene knockout, insertion, or modification to study disease mechanisms.
