- Reconstitute in 100 µL of sterile water.
- Centrifuge to remove any insoluble material.
- Specificity: TAS2R31, with some cross-reactivity expected with T2R46, T2R43, T2R19, and T2R30.
Target Information
Receptor that may play a role in the perception of bitterness and is gustducin-linked. It may participate in sensing the chemical composition of gastrointestinal contents. The receptor activity may stimulate alpha gustducin, mediate PLC-beta-2 activation, and lead to TRPM5 gating. Expressed in subsets of taste receptor cells of the tongue and exclusively in gustducin-positive cells. Most taste cells may be activated by a limited number of bitter compounds, and individual taste cells can discriminate among bitter stimuli.
