Target Information
FBJ murine osteosarcoma viral oncogene homolog, commonly known as Cellular protooncogene Fos (c-Fos), belongs to the fos transcription factor family encoded by the C-FOS gene on chromosome 14.
c-Fos heterodimerizes with c-Jun to form the Activator Protein-1 (AP-1) transcription factor, regulating genes involved in cellular signal transduction, proliferation, and differentiation.
c-Fos is phosphorylated by various stimuli including growth factors and insulin at multiple sites. ERK MAPK phosphorylates at Threonine 232, controlling c-Fos nuclear localization and transcriptional activity.
