Anserine은 vertebrate 골격근에서 풍부하게 존재하는 carnosine(beta-alanyl-L-histidine)의 메틸화 유도체이며, Gly-Gly-His, Gly-His, homocarnosine(GABA-His) 등의 다른 L-histidine 함유 di-/tripeptide도 메틸화합니다.
