Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene contains a PDZ domain and a LIM domain, suggesting involvement in cytoskeletal assembly. It binds the spectrin-like repeats of alpha-actinin-2 and colocalizes with alpha-actinin-2 at the Z lines of skeletal muscle. Although located near a chromosome 4 region associated with facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy, this gene does not appear to be involved in the disease. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
