Target Information
PLA2G2A 유전자가 암호화하는 단백질은 phospholipase A2 (PLA2) 계열에 속하며, 이 효소들은 서열, 기능, 위치, 2가 양이온 요구도에 따라 다양한 특성을 가집니다.
이 단백질은 group II에 속하는 분비형 PLA2로, 낮은 분자량을 가지며 칼슘 이온이 촉매 작용에 필요합니다.
주요 기능은 인지질의 sn-2 지방산 에스터 결합을 가수분해하여 자유 지방산과 lysophospholipid를 방출하는 것입니다. 이는 생체막의 인지질 대사 조절에 관여하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
이 유전자는 서로 다른 5’ UTR을 가진 여러 가지 스플라이싱 변이체를 생성합니다.
