Target Information
NF-kappa-B inhibitor-like protein 1 (NFKBIL1), also named IκB-like and IκBL1, is a 381 amino acid member of the inhibitor of NF-kappaB (IκB) family of proteins. NFKBIL1 contains two ANK repeats and is expressed in the rheumatoid synovial lining and sub-lining layers, co-localized in CD68+ and CD3+, but not Factor VIII+ cells. Defects in NFKBIL1 expression are associated with susceptibility to rheumatoid arthritis (RA), a systemic autoimmune inflammatory disease affecting joints and connective tissues.
