Target Information
Ribosomes are organelles that catalyze protein synthesis and consist of a small 40S subunit and a large 60S subunit, composed of RNA species and approximately 80 distinct proteins. The RPL18 gene encodes a member of the L18E family, which is a component of the 60S subunit. Multiple processed pseudogenes are dispersed throughout the genome, and alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been observed.
