Product Specific Information
- Recommended positive controls: NT2D1, PC-3, U87-MG, SK-N-SH, mouse brain, rat brain, HepG2 (untreated or Thapsigargin-treated), Huh7 (infected/uninfected), HeLa (Chloroquine-treated).
- Predicted reactivity: Zebrafish, Japanese Medaka, Pig, Rhesus Monkey, Chimpanzee, Bovine (all 100%).
- Store product as a concentrated solution. Centrifuge briefly prior to opening the vial.
Target Information
LC3B (Autophagy Marker Light Chain 3B, MAP1A/MAP1B LC3 B) is encoded by the MAP1LC3B gene in humans.
LC3B is associated with microtubule assembly and plays a key role in neurogenesis and autophagy — a process responsible for cytoplasmic component degradation.
Macroautophagy involves the formation of double-membrane autophagosomes that fuse with lysosomes for degradation.
LC3B mediates interactions between microtubules and cytoskeletal components and is implicated in cancer, aging, metabolic, neurodegenerative, and cardiovascular/pulmonary diseases.
