HNRPA0는 널리 발현되는 heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoproteins (hnRNPs)의 A/B 하위군에 속합니다. hnRNPs는 RNA 결합 단백질로, heterogeneous nuclear RNA (hnRNA)와 복합체를 형성합니다. 이 단백질들은 핵 내 pre-mRNA 처리 및 mRNA 대사, 수송에 영향을 미치며 일부는 핵과 세포질 사이를 이동합니다. HNRNPA0 단백질은 두 개의 quasi-RRM 도메인을 포함하고 있으며, RNA 결합 기능을 가지는 glycine-rich C-terminus를 갖습니다.
