Target Information
GABRA5는 포유류 뇌의 주요 억제성 신경전달물질인 GABA 수용체(GABA-A receptor)의 구성 요소입니다. GABA-A 수용체는 리간드 개폐성 염화 이온 채널로 작용하며, benzodiazepine 등의 결합에 의해 염화 이온 전도도가 조절될 수 있습니다. 현재까지 최소 16개의 서로 다른 GABA-A 수용체 서브유닛이 확인되었으며, 세 가지 상이한 비암호화 첫 엑손을 이용하는 전사 변이체가 보고되었습니다.
