Target Information
HIF-1 beta is one of the aryl hydrocarbon receptor nuclear translocator (ARNT) gene products.
It plays a key role in mammalian oxygen homeostasis as part of the HIF-1 heterodimer, composed of HIF-1 alpha and HIF-1 beta subunits.
Under normoxic conditions, HIF-1 alpha is hydroxylated, ubiquitinated, and degraded, while HIF-1 beta remains stable.
Under hypoxic conditions, HIF-1 alpha degradation is inhibited, increasing transcriptional activity.
Dysfunction in HIF-1 beta is associated with diseases such as hypoxia and renal cell carcinoma.
