Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The expression systems are developed by cloning the specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits, followed by screening to select the best production candidates.

Target Information

The tumor suppressor protein p53 is a sequence-specific transcription factor activated by cellular stress. It mediates cell cycle arrest or apoptosis in response to DNA damage or nucleotide starvation. p53 activation leads to transcription of genes such as p21waf1, which regulate G1 or G2/M arrest.
Structurally, p53 includes:

  • N-terminal transactivation domain
  • Central DNA-binding domain
  • Oligomerisation domain
  • C-terminal regulatory domain

Phosphorylation at Ser15 is crucial for activation and stabilization, while phosphorylation at Ser392 is associated with tumor formation. p53 plays a key role in preventing proliferation of damaged cells and acts as an anticancer agent.
Mutations in TP53 often lead to loss of tumor suppressor activity and are linked to various cancers, as well as aging and oxidative stress.
