Product Specific Information
Reconstitute in 100 µL of sterile water. Centrifuge to remove any insoluble material.
After reconstitution, keep aliquots at -20 °C for higher stability, and at 4 °C with an appropriate antibacterial agent.
Glycerol (1:1) may be added for additional stability. Avoid repetitive freeze/thaw cycles.
Target Information
This gene encodes a hypothalamic neuropeptide precursor protein that gives rise to two mature neuropeptides, orexin A and orexin B, by proteolytic processing.
Orexin A and orexin B bind to orphan G-protein coupled receptors HCRTR1 and HCRTR2, functioning in the regulation of sleep and arousal.
This neuropeptide system may also play a role in feeding behavior, metabolism, and homeostasis.
