Product Specific Information

  • Specificity: Reacts with Histone H3 trimethylated at Lysine 27 (H3K27me3).
    No cross-reactivity with non-modified Lysine 27, monomethylated (K27me1), dimethylated (K27me2), or other histone H3 methylations.
  • Production: Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. Antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits are cloned and screened for optimal clones.

Target Information

H3K27me3 is an epigenetic mark where histone H3 is trimethylated at lysine 27. It is associated with gene silencing and heterochromatin formation, typically found at inactive promoters and in opposition to the activating mark H3K4me3.
EZH2, a component of the PRC2 complex, acts as the methyltransferase ("writer") for H3K27me3, while UTX and JMJD3 serve as demethylases ("erasers").
Regulation of H3K27me3 is critical for gene expression control, and its dysregulation is linked to various diseases, including cancer.
H3K27me3 antibodies are widely used in Western blot and ChIP assays to study histone modification patterns and gene regulation mechanisms.
