Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits are cloned, and individual clones are screened to select optimal candidates.

Target Information

The PKC family of serine/threonine kinases, including PRKCA (PKC alpha), is activated by intracellular signaling pathways. In humans, at least 12 PKC isoforms have been identified, differing in structure, localization, and substrate specificity.
PKC alpha, beta I, beta II, and gamma form the conventional family, which are Ca²⁺- and phospholipid-dependent. PKC family members phosphorylate various protein targets and participate in diverse signaling pathways.
They act as receptors for phorbol esters, a class of tumor promoters. PKC alpha is involved in processes such as cell adhesion, transformation, cell cycle checkpoint control, and cell volume regulation.
Mouse knockout studies indicate its role in cardiac contractility and Ca²⁺ handling in myocytes.
