Target Information

TULA (T cell ubiquitin ligand, UBASH3A, ubiquitin associated and SH3 domain containing A), also known as STS-2 or CLIP4, is a 661 amino acid protein localized in both nucleus and cytoplasm. It contains one SH3 domain and one UBA domain and is highly expressed in thymus, bone marrow, spleen, and peripheral blood leukocytes.
TULA forms homodimers or homo-oligomers that interfere with receptor-type tyrosine kinase degradation, promoting accumulation of activated receptors on the cell surface. It is part of an EGFR- and Cbl-containing complex interacting with ubiquitinated proteins.
The gene encoding TULA maps to human chromosome 21 and may be involved in type I diabetes pathogenesis. Multiple isoforms arise from alternative splicing.
