Cardiotrophin-1 (CT-1)은 IL-6 계열 사이토카인에 속하며, gp130 수용체 복합체를 통해 신호를 전달합니다. 이 단백질은 LIF receptor/gp130 복합체를 활성화하여 심근세포 비대를 유도하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다. 또한 발생기 심근에서 높은 수준으로 발현되어 배아 심근세포의 증식과 생존을 촉진하며, 심장 발달 중 gp130 활성화에 중요한 역할을 합니다.
