Antibody detects endogenous levels of total PIAS3.
Target Information
The PIAS (protein inhibitor of activated STAT) proteins act as transcriptional coregulators in various cellular pathways, including STAT, p53, and steroid hormone signaling. The PIAS family includes at least five conserved genes, among them PIAS3. These proteins regulate gene transcription and function as SUMO E3 ligases. PIAS3 specifically binds STAT3 following its activation. Elevated PIAS3 expression has been found in several cancers such as lung, breast, and brain tumors, but not in ALK-positive T-cell lymphomas, suggesting tissue-specific roles.
