Target Information
Mk-4721 is a biosimilar that targets PSCA (Prostate Stem Cell Antigen), a cell surface antigen overexpressed in approximately 40% of primary prostate cancers and up to 100% of metastatic cases. PSCA is also overexpressed in many transitional cell and pancreatic carcinomas. Antibody directed against PSCA inhibits tumorigenesis, slows tumor growth, prolongs survival, and prevents metastasis in preclinical xenograft models, indicating that PSCA may serve as a prognostic marker and/or therapeutic target in prostate cancer.
