Product Specific Information

The 6B11 monoclonal antibody recognizes an epitope formed by the germ-line configuration of Vα24 and Jα18 of the TCR α locus, expressed by invariant NK T cells (iNKT). This TCR is homologous to the murine Vα14 Jα18 and pairs with restricted TCR β chains, with Vβ11 being prominent in humans.
iNKT cells, restricted by CD1d, are activated by CD1d-presented glycolipids and rapidly produce IL-4, IL-13, and IFN-γ. They regulate immune responses in autoimmune, infectious, and cancer contexts.
The frequency of iNKT cells in normal human peripheral blood varies from 0.01–1% of total T cells.

Applications Reported: Suitable for flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and tested on normal human peripheral blood cells.
Recommended use: 5 µL (0.5 µg) per test (100 µL final volume, 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).
Excitation: 488–561 nm; Emission: 578 nm; Laser: Blue, Green, Yellow-Green.
Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.


Target Information

T cell receptors (TCRs) discriminate foreign from self-peptides presented by MHC class II molecules, essential for adaptive immunity. Recognition of self-peptides is linked to autoimmune diseases and tumor-associated mutant peptides.
Superantigen engagement of TCRs causes toxic shock syndrome. Autoantibodies to Vβ segments are found in RA and SLE patients, modulating TH1-mediated inflammation.
Most human T cells express TCR αβ with CD4 or CD8 (single positive), while a small subset lacks both (double negative). Increased αβ DN T cells are observed in autoimmune and immunodeficiency disorders.
γδ T cells, primarily epithelial, exhibit limited diversity and distinct antigen recognition, with antitumor and immunoregulatory roles.
