세포 내 위치 (Cellular Localization)
Nucleus, nucleoplasm, and nucleolus. Interaction with MDFIC sequesters HAND1 into the nucleolus, preventing transcription factor activity. Phosphorylation by PLK4 disrupts the interaction with MDFIC and releases HAND1 from the nucleolus, leading to transcription factor activation (By similarity).
배경 (Background)
The HAND1 gene encodes a basic helix-loop-helix transcription factor that plays a crucial role in cardiac morphogenesis. HAND1 is asymmetrically expressed in developing ventricular chambers and functions in the formation of the right ventricle and aortic arch arteries, implicating it in congenital heart disease.
