Background
Cyclin E2 단백질은 세포 주기 동안 단백질 양이 주기적으로 변하는 highly conserved cyclin family에 속합니다. Cyclins는 CDK kinase의 조절자로 작용하며, 각 cyclin은 고유한 발현 및 분해 패턴을 보여 각 유사분열 단계의 시간적 조율에 기여합니다. Cyclin E2는 CDK2와 복합체를 형성하여 G1/S 전이 단계에서 중요한 역할을 하며, CIP/KIP family의 CDK 억제 단백질과 상호작용합니다. 이 유전자의 발현은 G1-S phase에서 최고조에 달하며, Cyclin E1과는 다른 조직 특이적 패턴을 보입니다. 종양 유래 세포에서 Cyclin E2 발현 수준이 유의하게 증가된 것으로 보고되었습니다.
