Target Information
The protein encoded by the RAB3GAP2 gene belongs to the RAB3 protein family, which is involved in regulated exocytosis of neurotransmitters and hormones.
This protein forms the Rab3 GTPase-activating complex with RAB3GAP1, where RAB3GAP2 acts as the regulatory subunit and RAB3GAP1 serves as the catalytic subunit.
It is highly expressed in the brain, indicating an important role in neurodevelopment. Mutations in this gene are associated with Martsolf syndrome.
