Chromogranin A (CHGA)는 neuroendocrine 분비 단백질 패밀리인 chromogranin/secretogranin 계열에 속하며, 신경 및 내분비 세포의 분비 소포에서 발견됩니다.
CHGA는 vasostatin, pancreastatin, parastatin의 전구체로 작용하며, 이들 펩타이드는 neuroendocrine 시스템의 자가/측분비 음성 조절자로 기능합니다.
Chromogranin A는 carcinoid tumor, pheochromocytoma, paraganglioma 및 기타 neuroendocrine 종양의 우수한 마커로 알려져 있습니다.
또한 neuron specific enolase (NSE)와의 공발현은 neuroendocrine 신생물에서 흔히 관찰됩니다.
