Target Information
MMP (matrix metalloproteinase)는 결합 조직 성분을 분해할 수 있는 단백질 분해 효소로, 공통적인 활성화 방식과 금속 결합 부위의 보존된 아미노산 서열을 가지고 있으며, TIMPs(tissue inhibitors of metalloproteinases)에 의해 억제됩니다.
MMP와 TIMPs는 혈관 신생 조절에 중요한 역할을 합니다.
MMP2는 631 아미노산으로 구성된 전구 효소 형태로 합성되며, 첫 80개의 아미노산 절단을 통해 활성화됩니다. 구조적으로 프로펩타이드, 촉매, 헴오펙신 도메인을 포함합니다.
MMPs는 최소 18종 이상의 분비형 및 막결합형 아연 엔도펩티다아제로 구성된 단백질군으로, 세포외기질의 모든 주요 성분을 분해할 수 있습니다.
MMP2는 조직 재형성에 관여하며, MMP-2 유전자의 돌연변이는 Winchester syndrome 및 Nodulosis-Arthropathy-Osteolysis (NAO) syndrome과 관련이 있습니다.
두 가지 전사 변이체가 서로 다른 MMP-2 동형을 암호화하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
