The antibody detects endogenous levels of total Stromal antigen 2 (STAG2) protein.
Target Information
STAG2 is a component of the cohesin complex, essential for sister chromatid cohesion after DNA replication. The cohesin complex forms a large protein ring that traps sister chromatids. During anaphase, the complex is cleaved and dissociates from chromatin, allowing segregation. It may also play a role in spindle pole assembly during mitosis.
