Product Specific Information

This AD2 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD73, a 5’-ectonucleotidase that converts 5’-adenosine monophosphate to adenosine. CD73 is expressed on endothelial cells, B cells, and T cells (including CD4+Foxp3+ regulatory T cells). Adenosine production by these cells is linked to inhibition of CD4 T cell effector functions such as proliferation and cytokine secretion.

Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and tested on normal human peripheral blood cells at 5 µL (0.125 µg) per test.
A test is defined as the amount of antibody that stains a cell sample in 100 µL final volume (cell count: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).

Target Information

CD73 (Ecto-5'-nucleotidase) catalyzes the conversion of purine 5'-mononucleotides to nucleosides at neutral pH, with AMP as the preferred substrate. It forms a dimer of two identical 70 kDa subunits anchored to the plasma membrane via a glycosyl phosphatidylinositol linkage.

CD73 serves as a marker for lymphocyte differentiation. Deficiency is associated with certain immunodeficiency diseases. The CD73 gene is localized to chromosome 6q14-q21. Mutations can cause joint and arterial calcification and intestinal tuberculosis. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
