Product Specific Information
The RB6-8C5 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse Ly-6G, a 21–25 kDa GPI-linked protein (Gr-1 antigen) expressed in the myeloid lineage during bone marrow development.
- Monocytes transiently express Gr-1 during development.
- Granulocytes and peripheral neutrophils show strong Gr-1 expression, serving as reliable markers for these cell populations.
eBioscience testing indicates that this antibody also stains cells expressing high Ly6C levels. For Ly-6G-specific detection, use 1A8-Ly6G (Product #9668).
Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Mouse bone marrow and splenocyte suspensions
- Recommended ≤0.125 µg per test (per 100 µL sample)
- Cell number: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test (empirically determined)
- Optimize antibody titration for best performance
Light Sensitivity: Protect from light; tandem dye is photo-sensitive.
