Target Information

The Citrate Synthase protein is a key enzyme in the Krebs tricarboxylic acid cycle, catalyzing the synthesis of citrate from oxaloacetate and acetyl coenzyme A. It is found in nearly all cells capable of oxidative metabolism and is localized in the mitochondrial matrix after being nuclear encoded and transported.
