Description:
The 1RELAH5 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse c-Rel, a 65 kDa hematopoietic lineage-restricted member of the NF-κB family of transcription factors. In the thymus, c-Rel is upregulated in regulatory T cells (Treg) compared to other CD4⁺ thymocytes. It plays a critical role in thymic Treg (nTreg) development but is not required for TGF-β-mediated inducible Treg (iTreg) differentiation. c-Rel is also involved in proliferation and survival in mature T cells.

Reported for use in intracellular staining followed by flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
Tested by intracellular staining and flow cytometric analysis of mouse thymocytes using Foxp3 Fixation/Permeabilization Buffers (Product #00-5521-00).
Recommended usage ≤ 0.125 µg per test (100 µL final volume). Cell number may range from 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test. Antibody should be titrated for optimal performance.

Target Information

The REL gene encodes c-Rel, a transcription factor belonging to the Rel/NF-κB family, which includes RELA, RELB, NFKB1, and NFKB2. These proteins share a conserved N-terminal Rel domain, responsible for DNA binding, dimerization, nuclear localization, and interaction with NF-κB inhibitors (Belguise and Sonenshein, 2007).
