Recombinant Human HGF, sourced from HEK293 cells, is a 79.4 kDa polypeptide consisting of 695 amino acid residues. Due to glycosylation, Recombinant Human HGF migrates with an apparent molecular mass of approximately 68–85 kDa by SDS-PAGE under non-reducing conditions.

Target Information
Hepatocyte Growth Factor (HGF) regulates cell growth, motility, and morphogenesis by activating a tyrosine kinase signaling cascade after binding to the c-Met receptor. It is secreted by mesenchymal cells and functions as a multifunctional cytokine primarily on epithelial cells.
HGF stimulates mitogenesis, cell motility, and matrix invasion, playing a key role in angiogenesis, tumorigenesis, and tissue regeneration. It is secreted as an inactive single-chain precursor, which is cleaved by serine proteases into a 69-kDa alpha-chain and a 34-kDa beta-chain. The active heterodimeric form is stabilized by a disulfide bond between the two chains.
HGF belongs to the plasminogen subfamily of S1 peptidases but lacks protease activity. Alternative splicing produces multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms.
