POLR2A 유전자는 RNA polymerase II의 가장 큰 서브유닛인 RPB1을 암호화합니다.
RPB1의 C-terminal domain (CTD)은 YSPTSPS 서열을 가진 반복적인 heptapeptide 구조를 포함하며, Serine-2 및 Serine-5의 인산화는 전사 조절 인자 및 RNA 처리 인자의 결합을 조절합니다.
