Target Information
FLT3 is a tyrosine protein kinase belonging to the growth factor receptor tyrosine kinase family. The receptor is activated by binding of the fms-related tyrosine kinase 3 ligand to its extracellular domain, inducing homodimer formation in the plasma membrane and subsequent autophosphorylation. Activated FLT3 phosphorylates and activates multiple cytoplasmic effector molecules involved in apoptosis, proliferation, and differentiation of hematopoietic cells in bone marrow. Mutations causing constitutive activation of this receptor are associated with acute myeloid leukemia and acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
