Target Information

MUC1 (Mucin 1, Episialin, MAM-6, CA 15-3, PEM, EMA)는 대부분의 선상 및 관상 상피세포와 일부 조혈세포 계통에서 발현되는 대형 세포 표면 점액당단백질입니다.
MUC1은 막관통형 글라이코프로틴으로, 다수의 O-결합 당사슬이 존재하며, 각 대립유전자는 30~90개의 반복 서열을 포함하여 분자량의 다양성을 보입니다.
MUC1은 대부분의 분비 상피조직(예: 유선)과 조혈세포에서 발현되며, 유방암 및 전이암의 90% 이상에서 풍부하게 발현됩니다.
MUC1 유전자는 7개의 엑손을 포함하고 있으며, 여러 가지 대체 스플라이싱 변형체를 생성합니다.
MUC1 단백질의 과발현, 비정상적인 세포 내 위치 변화, 당화 패턴의 변화는 다양한 암종과 연관되어 있습니다.
