Product Specific Information

This antibody reacts with an extracellular epitope on the native form of human HLA-G1 on the cell surface as well as with soluble HLA-G5 isoform in its beta2-microglobulin associated form. Reactivity with HLA-G3 was also reported.
The MEM-G/9 antibody was validated as a standard reagent during the 3rd International Conference on HLA-G (Paris, 2003).


Target Information

HLA-G belongs to the HLA class I heavy chain paralogues. This class I molecule is a heterodimer consisting of a heavy chain and a light chain (beta-2 microglobulin).
The heavy chain is anchored in the membrane and expressed on fetal-derived placental cells. It is approximately 45 kDa and encoded by a gene containing 8 exons:

  • Exon 1: leader peptide
  • Exons 2–3: α1 and α2 domains (peptide-binding)
  • Exon 4: α3 domain
  • Exon 5: transmembrane region
  • Exon 6: cytoplasmic tail

HLA and MHC antibodies are essential tools in Immunopeptidomics, enabling identification and characterization of neoantigens via LC-MS/MS.
