Target Information
Potassium voltage-gated channel subfamily A member 4 (Kv1.4 or PCN2) is encoded by the KCNA4 gene in humans. This gene maps to chromosome 11p14.1 and belongs to the shaker-related subfamily of voltage-gated potassium channels.
KCNA4 contributes to the A-type potassium current class, which regulates the fast repolarizing phase of cardiac action potentials and influences their duration. It also contributes to the cardiac transient outward potassium current (Ito1), a major current in phase 1 of cardiac repolarization.
KCNA4 has been shown to interact with DLG4, KCNA2, and DLG1.
