Product Specific Information

This 201A monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD303a (CLEC4C or BDCA-2). CD303a is a type II transmembrane protein expressed almost exclusively on plasmacytoid dendritic cells, which secrete type I interferon during antiviral and antitumor responses.
CD303a binds asialo-galactosyl-oligosaccharides on pathogens, triggering internalization and downregulation of interferon production.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Pre-diluted and validated for flow cytometric analysis of normal human peripheral blood cells.
Use at 5 µL (0.125 µg) per test (100 µL final volume). Suitable for 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test.

Target Information

This gene encodes a member of the C-type lectin/C-type lectin-like domain superfamily. Members share a common protein fold and have diverse functions, including cell adhesion, signaling, glycoprotein turnover, inflammation, and immune response.
The encoded type II transmembrane protein may play a role in dendritic cell function. Two transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified.
