MAP2K5 (MEK5) serine/threonine kinase는 MAP kinase family에 속하는 dual specificity protein kinase로, MAPK7/ERK5를 특이적으로 인식하고 활성화합니다.
MAP2K5는 MAP3K3/MEKK3 및 atypical protein kinase C isoforms (aPKCs)에 의해 인산화되어 활성화될 수 있습니다.
이 신호 경로는 성장인자 자극에 의한 세포 증식과 근육세포 분화에 관여하며, MAP2K5 프로모터의 rs3743354 다형성은 대장암 발생 위험에 영향을 줄 수 있습니다.
