AHNAK1 (Desmoyokin)은 약 700 kDa의 대형 스캐폴드 단백질로, 세포 외 칼슘 농도 증가나 단백질 키나아제 C 활성화 시 세포막으로 이동하여 L-type Ca²⁺ 채널을 매개로 한 칼슘 유입을 조절합니다.
이 단백질은 세포 분화 및 증식과 관련된 다양한 신호전달 과정에 관여하며, 칼슘 의존적 세포 간 접촉에 반응하여 actin 및 annexin 2/S100A10 복합체와 결합해 세포막 구조를 조절합니다.
상피세포에서는 세포질 또는 막 관련 형태로 존재하며, 비상피세포에서는 주로 핵 내에 존재하고 약한 DNA 결합 활성을 가지며 DNA ligase IV–XRCC4 복합체와 상호작용합니다.
