Target Information
Thioredoxins are small redox-active proteins with a conserved active site sequence. Thioredoxin-like protein 1 (TrxL) contains two distinct domains:
- N-terminal domain: 43% identical to human TXN and contains the thioredoxin-like active site sequence with one amino acid substitution.
- C-terminal domain: Shows no homology to other proteins in sequence databases.
Unlike other thioredoxin-like proteins, TrxL is not a substrate for thioredoxin reductase in insulin assays.
