Anti-ALANINE TRANSAMINASE is an IgG fraction antibody purified from monospecific antiserum by a multi-step process (delipidation, salt fractionation, ion-exchange chromatography, and dialysis).
Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Sheep Serum and purified Alanine Transaminase [Pig Heart].
Cross-reactivity with Alanine Transaminase from other sources is unknown.
Target Information
GPT (Glutamate-pyruvate transaminase), also known as alanine aminotransferase, catalyzes the reversible conversion of L-alanine and alpha-ketoglutarate to L-glutamate and pyruvate.
This protein has two distinct molecular and genetic forms: cytoplasmic (GPT1) and mitochondrial (GPT2).
