Target Information
MUC1 (Mucin 1, Episialin, MAM-6, CA 15-3, PEM, EMA)는 대부분의 선세포 및 관상 상피세포와 일부 조혈세포 계통에서 발현되는 대형 세포막 점액당단백질입니다.
MUC1은 막관통형 글라이코프로테인으로, 단백질 분해 및 O-결합형 당쇄의 연속적 부가와 처리 과정을 거쳐 여러 중간 형태로 성숙합니다. 이 단백질은 고도로 다형성이며, 각 대립유전자는 30~90개의 반복 서열을 포함하여 분자량에 큰 차이를 보입니다.
MUC1은 대부분의 분비 상피조직과 유방 상피세포에서 발현되며, 90% 이상의 유방암 및 전이암에서 과발현됩니다. 또한, MUC1은 EGFR(erbB1)을 포함한 모든 erbB 수용체와 상호작용하는 것으로 보고되었습니다.
MUC1 유전자는 7개의 엑손을 포함하며, 여러 가지 대체 스플라이싱 변이를 생성합니다. MUC1 단백질의 과발현, 비정상적인 세포내 위치 변화, 당화 패턴의 변화는 다양한 암과 관련이 있습니다.
