ASGR2는 galactose-말단 당단백질을 결합하는 세포 표면 수용체입니다. 이 수용체는 막 소낭과 세관을 통해 당단백질을 산성 분류 소기관으로 운반하며, 그곳에서 리간드와 수용체가 분리됩니다. 이후 수용체는 세포 표면으로 재활용됩니다. 이 유전자는 네 가지 대체 스플라이스 전사체 변형을 가지며, 다수의 polyadenylation 부위를 포함합니다.
