Target Information
The WNT gene family encodes secreted signaling proteins involved in oncogenesis and developmental processes such as cell fate regulation and embryonic patterning.
WNT6 is overexpressed in cervical and colorectal cancer cell lines and coexpressed with WNT10A, suggesting a role in carcinogenesis.
The WNT6 and WNT10A genes are clustered in the chromosome 2q35 region.
The human WNT6 protein is 97% identical to the mouse Wnt6 protein at the amino acid level.
