Target Information
FNIP2는 folliculin과 상호작용하는 두 번째 단백질로, folliculin은 Birt-Hogg-Dube (BHD) 유전자의 산물입니다. Folliculin은 종양 억제 단백질로 추정되며, 해당 유전자의 변이나 이형접합성 상실은 BHD 증후군 관련 신장 종양과 연관됩니다.
FNIP1은 FNIP2와 49%의 서열 동일성을 가지며, 두 단백질 모두 AMPK에 결합하여 세포 성장과 증식을 조절하는 mTOR 경로를 음성 조절합니다. FNIP1과 FNIP2는 homo- 및 heteromeric 복합체를 형성할 수 있어 기능적 연관성이 있을 것으로 추정됩니다.
